Perhaps the amount of Valium has to be adjusted because of the irritation. I used to take a vaginal suppository with valium, baclofen and lidocaine to relax the pelvic floor... and yes, it can be messy after it "melts".
Only some of it is absorbed into the vaginal wall, the rest is discharged through the vagina. Hi guys, For the past ten years I’ve been taking vaginal valium suppositories (10mg) nightly for tight pelvic floor muscles. They have worked very A few yrs back a urogynecologist who was relatively new to the area suggested vaginal valium (I'd just read an article mentioning this in IC Update & figured she read it too). She prescribed 10 mg pills; I'd crush one & mix it w/KY & insert w/applicator.
vaginal valium, I tried compounded vaginal Valium suppositories that were made special for me, with minimal irritating ingredients. They were messy, expensive, & didn't work near as well as a tablet for me, for some reason. I tried Xanax way back when I was diagnosed, but my body responds better to Valium. I really need a higher dose, like 5mg twice per day. When I 'm in a flare, valium helps.
vaginal valium, Yrs ago urogyn prescribed 10 MG mixed w/ky jelly to be inserted vaginally. It calmed my flare -- at least till next void (20-30 min) and after that took the edge off some. She later prescribed suppositories but I had no luck with them - they felt uncomfortable/weird -- I think I had a bad reaction to the base, likely something w/coconut... Also the pills ... I had vulvodynia pain and vaginal irritation and didn't want to put anything in there. Also, I saw a uro/gyn at Jacksonville Mayo and she prescribed compounded valium suppositories, and again, I didn't use them because I was so irritated down there and I was afraid of dripping and itching.
Anyway, I have used a vaginal suppository with Valium, Baclofen and Lidocaine made at a compounding pharmacy which helped me with flares. The meds stay concentrated in the pelvic region and relaxed it. The only downside was that I could only tolerate one per day..My vulvar region doesn't like a lot of different compounds. Each Diazepam 5mg/ml Vaginal Gel 30 ml dose i use comes in a syringe and i inject the gel rectally.
