Science Fest at MCC Stop by the South Omaha Campus Mahoney Building, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., for hands-on fun and experiments. Free and open to the public. Secluded on wooded ridgetops, Mahoney State Park offers 57 cabins, 49 of which have two bedrooms, three of which have four bedrooms and five of which have six bedrooms.
Each cabin has air conditioning/heat, fireplace, TV, refrigerator, range, cable TV, outdoor deck and grill and are open year round. Mahoney Environmental recycles used fryer oil, used cooking oil, and grease trap material, turning these waste products into raw material that can be used to manufacture new products such as renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel. Located near Ashland, just off of I-80 at exit 426, Mahoney nestles on 700 acres along the picturesque Platte River. Near to the park there are several attractions.
